Abstract

"The Business Tendency Index (ITB) in the fourth quarter of 2011 was 106.92, meaning that business conditions increased from the previous quarter.The level of business optimism was lower compared to the third quarter of 2011 (ITB value of 107.86).

The increase in business conditions in the fourth quarter of 2011 occurred in all sectors except Agricultural, Livestock, Forestry and Fishery Sector (ITB value was 98.14). The highest increase in business conditions occurred in the Construction Sector (ITB value of 111.51)

Business conditions in the fourth quarter of 2011 increased due to an increase in operating revenues (index value of 108.27), use of production capacity (index value of 105.53), and average working hours (index value of 106.32).

The value of ITB in the first quarter of 2012 was 108.37, meaning that business condition is predicted to increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2011. The level of business optimism is predicted to be higher when compared to the fourth quarter of 2011 (ITB value of 106.92)

All economic sectors in Q1 / 2012 are predicted to experience improvement in business conditions. Agricultural, Livestock, Forestry and Fishery sectors are predicted to experience the highest business increase (ITB value is 116.27), and the lowest is in the Service Sector (ITB value is 104.55).
