Abstract

"The value of Indonesia's exports in January 2012 reached US $ 15.49 billion or decreased by 9.28 percent compared to December 2011 exports. Meanwhile, compared to January 2011, it increased by 6.07 percent. Non-oil / gas exports in January 2012 reached US $ 12.52 billion, down 7.90 percent compared to December 2011, while compared to exports in January 2011 increased by 4.40 percent. The largest decrease in non-oil exports in January 2012 occurred in mineral fuels of US $ 619.3 million, while the largest increase occurred in animal / vegetable fats and oils of US $ 213.5 million. Non-oil exports to Japan in January 2012 reached the largest figure of US $ 1.61 billion, followed by China US $ 1.36 billion and US $ 1.20 billion, with the contribution of the three reached 33.26 percent. Meanwhile, exports to the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US $ 1.60 billion. According to the sector, exports of industrial products in January 2012 rose by 2.08 percent compared to the same month in 2011, as well as exports of mining and other products rose 14.82 percent while agricultural exports fell by 1.82 percent. The value of Indonesian imports in January 2012 amounted to US $ 14.57 billion, down 11.57 percent compared to imports in December 2011 of US $ 16.48 billion, compared to imports in January 2011 (US $ 12.56 billion), up 16.02 percent. Non-oil / gas imports in January 2012 amounted to US $ 11.58 billion or decreased by US $ 1.25 billion (9.72 percent) compared to non-oil / gas imports in December 2011 (US $ 12.83 billion). Meanwhile, the import of the goods category increased by US $ 0.60 billion (34.57 percent) compared to the same category of imports in January 2011 (US $ 1.72 billion). The country's largest non-oil / gas imports supplier in January 2012 was China with US $ 2.53 billion with a share of 21.88 percent, followed by Japan US $ 1.74 billion (15.06 percent) and Singapore US $ 0.85 billion (7.31 percent) percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN reached 20.94 percent, while from the EU at 9.42 percent.
