Abstract

In September 2017, the number of poor people in South Sumatra reached 1,086.76 thousand people or 13.10 percent. The percentage of the poor decreased by 0.29 percent from September 2016 by 13.39 percent, while the number decreased by 9.74 thousand people from 1,096.50 thousand people.
The percentage of the urban poor in September 2016 of 12.73 percent decreased to 12.36 percent in September 2017. While the percentage of poor people in rural areas dropped from 13.77 percent in September 2016 to 13.54 percent in September 2017.
