Abstract
Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In July 2022, Sumatra Selatan's NTP fell 4.19 percent compared to June's FTT, from 110.37 to 105.75. The decrease in NTP in July 2022 was due to the price index of agricultural products experiencing an average price decline of 3.68 percent, while the index paid by farmers in general experienced an average increase of 0.53 percent.
The decrease in FTT in July 2022 was influenced by the decline in FTT in the Food Crops sub-sector, which fell by 1.45 percent and in Plantation by 5.28 percent. Meanwhile, other sub-sectors that experienced an increase were Horticulture which increased by 2.39 percent, Livestock 0.15 percent, Fisheries in general 1.10 percent, Capture Fisheries 1.75 percent and Aquaculture 0.08 percent.
In July 2022, in Sumatra Selatan there was rural inflation of 0.43 percent caused by an increase in the average price index in the expenditure group, namely: Food, Beverage and Tobacco group 0.57 percent, Clothing and Footwear 0.50 percent, Equipment, Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance 0.07 percent, Health 0.75 percent, Transportation 0.13 percent, Recreation, Sports and Culture 0.71 percent, Education 0.53 percent and Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision 0.67 percent. Meanwhile, the groups experiencing deflation were Housing, Water, Electricity and Household Fuel at 0.09 percent, Information, Communication and Financial Services at 0.20 percent and Personal Care and Other Services at 0.14 percent.
The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in July 2022 was 106.26, down 4.47 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
