Abstract

The export value of Sumatra Selatan in June 2022 reached US$591.04 million, down 4.50 percent compared to exports in May 2022. Compared to June 2021, the export value increased by 47.31 percent.

Non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 reached US$516.50 million, down 12.42 percent compared to May 2022. Compared to June 2021, non-oil and gas exports rose by 31.96 percent.

Cumulatively, the export value of Sumatra Selatan from January to June 2022 reached US$ 3,346.75 million, an increase of 44.64 percent compared to the same period in 2021, as well as non-oil and gas exports reaching US$ 3,141.66 million, an increase of 39.65 percent.

The largest decrease in non-oil and gas exports occurred in mineral fuel commodities (coal and lignite) of US$70.45 million (21.56 percent), while the largest increase in non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 compared to May 2022 occurred in commodities of animal/vegetable fats and oils of US$33. ,20 million.

By sector, non-oil and gas exports of agricultural products from January to June 2022 rose 49.05 percent compared to the same period in 2021, exports of processing industry products rose 2.53 percent, and exports of mining and other products rose 152.33 percent.

The largest export in June 2022 was to India at US$120.13 million, followed by China at US$112.24 million, and to Malaysia at US$63.04 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 49.98 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union amounted to US$190.67 million and US$36.82 million, respectively.

Cumulatively, Sumatra Selatan's largest export value from January to June 2022 was aimed at China, India and Malaysia, with a value of US$891.66 million, US$499.93 million and US$270.26 million, respectively.

The import value of Sumatra Selatan in June 2022 reached US$94.71 million, up 42.88 percent compared to May 2022, and up 13.09 percent compared to June 2021.

Oil and gas imports in June 2022 were worth US$1.77 million, down 73.90 percent compared to May 2022, and down 41.27 percent compared to June 2021.

Non-oil and gas imports in June 2022 were valued at US$92.94 million, up 56.21 percent compared to May 2022, and up 15.12 percent compared to June 2021.

The largest increase in imports of non-oil and gas goods in June 2022 compared to May 2022 was machinery, electrical equipment and its parts, which increased by US$20.72 million (641.40 percent). While the biggest decline was trains, trams and their parts, which fell by US$3.55 million (45.77 percent).

The three largest suppliers of imported goods from January to June 2022 are China US$218.60 million (46.16 percent), Singapore US$52.57 million (11.10 percent), and Thailand US$29.57 million (6.24 percent) . The import value from ASEAN in January - June was US$158.19 million (33.41 percent) and the European Union US$13.64 million (2.88 percent).

According to the category of use of goods, the value of imports from January to June 2022 against the same period the previous year saw a decline in consumption goods of US$2.37 million (36.02 percent), capital goods of US$86.54 million (38.23 percent), while raw materials raw materials/auxiliaries increased by US$81.75 million (33.00 percent).

Sumatra Selatan's trade balance in June 2022 experienced a surplus of US$496.33 million, from the non-oil and gas sector of US$423.57 million, and the oil and gas sector of US$72.77 million.
