Abstract

The increase in the 2024 HDI occurred in all dimensions, including longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and decent living standards.
The growth of the 2024 HDI accelerated from the previous year. All dimensions that make up the HDI increased, especially the decent living standard dimension.
In the longevity and healthy living dimension, babies born in 2024 have a life expectancy of 73.88 years, an increase of 0.27 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (SP2020-LF).
In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling for the population aged 7 years increased by 0.01 years compared to the previous year, from 13.49 to 13.50 years. In addition, the average length of schooling for the population aged 25 years and over also increased by 0.01 years, from 9.43 years to 9.44 years in 2024. The HLS and RLS data sources use the results of the March Susenas.
In the dimension of decent living standards, measured based on the average adjusted per capita expenditure per year, there was an increase of 562 thousand rupiah (5.80 percent) compared to the previous year. The data source for real per capita expenditure per year uses the results of the March Susenas.
